Before & After School Care (BASC)

Before School Care

How early can I drop my student(s) off?

Before School Care begins at 7:00 AM and ends when students are dismissed to report to their respective classrooms.  Release times are as follows:

  • Middle School and Junior High       (5th-8th)           8:00 AM
  • Elementary                                         (K-4th)              8:05 AM

Where do I drop my student(s) off?

You may drop your student(s) off at the curb. Students will enter the building through Door #2, which is just south of the main entrance, near the cafeteria. Students will go to the cafeteria, where a staff person will check them in.

How much does Before School Care cost?

  • Students arriving between 7:00 AM and 7:40 AM will be charged $5 per student or $10 per family per day.
  • Students arriving after 7:40 AM will not be charged.

After School Care (KIDS CREATE)

What time does KIDS CREATE begin?

KIDS CREATE begins at 3:10 PM Monday through Friday for students not participating in regular dismissal and 3:30 PM for students still waiting at the end of regular dismissal.  Any students who are not picked up by 3:30 will be checked in to KIDS CREATE and fees will apply.

What time does KIDS CREATE end?

KIDS CREATE ends promptly each day at 6:00 PM. However, you may pick up your student(s) any time between 3:30 PM and 6:00 PM.

Where do I pick up my student(s)?

Parents must come inside to pick up students and sign them out. If students are not in their usual location, a sign will be posted on the front door to let you know where they are. If you are not a “regular customer”, be prepared to show a picture ID.

How much does KIDS CREATE cost?

  • Students picked up by 3:30 PM will not be charged.
  • Students picked up by 4:30 PM will be charged $6 per student or $10 per family per day.
  • Students picked up after 4:30 PM will be charged an additional $10 per student or $20 per family per day.

Special note for students who attend an after school club/class/lesson:

Students who are not picked up at the end of their club/class/lesson will be checked in to KIDS CREATE and will be charged $10 per student per day.

Other Questions

Who can use BASC?

BASC is available for students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

How do I pay for BASC?

All fees for BASC will be billed directly to students’ FACTS accounts monthly as an incidental charge and will be due 30 days after billing.

Can my student(s) bring food to eat during BASC?

Please feed your child(ren) breakfast before dropping them off at school. During KIDS CREATE, snacks will be provided. Students may bring water bottles (although not necessary as we have school water fountains).

What happens if I cannot pick up my student(s) by 6:00 PM?

Students who are not picked up by 6:00 PM will be charged a late fee of $20.00 per student for each fifteen minutes past 6:00 PM. In addition, three late pick-ups may result in loss of privilege to use our KIDS CREATE program.

May my child(ren) bring personal items to BASC?

Students are permitted to bring electronic devices such as cell phones or other handheld devices, with the understanding that such items are the responsibility of the student and should only be used by that student when allowed by the BASC staff. Damaged, lost or missing items are not the responsibility of TPCS or the BASC Staff.

What happens if there is a school delay or cancellation?

  • If there is a 2-hour delay,  or if school is cancelled, BASC will also be cancelled.
  • If school is released early due to bad weather, KIDS CREATE will be cancelled.
  • If school ends at the regular time, BUT road conditions are rapidly deteriorating due to snowy or icy conditions, or if significant accumulations of snow or ice are predicted that could jeopardize the safety of our 6:00 PM drive home, then we will cancel KIDS CREATE for that day. This decision will typically be made by 2:30 PM and will be communicated via a Parent Alert notification.

Who can pick up my child(ren)?

We use RenWeb to determine who is authorized to pick up your child(ren). Therefore, please make sure that RenWeb is kept current at all times. If it is necessary for a person not on your list to pick up your child(ren), please send a signed note to that effect or call the school at 317-769-2450 and verbally authorize the pick-up before the person arrives. To ensure proper safety for your child(ren), it may be necessary for the person to show identification or wait until you can be reached before we will release your child(ren).

If you have any questions or concerns regarding our BASC program, please contact Nate Mylin at 317-769-2450.
