Christian Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s)

Traders Point Christian Academy is committed to using the most proven educational practices available. The educational philosophy that we have embraced is summarized by the following statement

Professional Learning Community (PLC):  An ongoing process in which educators work collaboratively in recurring cycles of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve. Professional learning communities operate under the assumption that the key to improved learning for students is continuous job-embedded learning for educators. Rebecca DuFour, Solution Tree

What the hallmarks of a PLC school?

A Focus on Learning: Our school exists for students to learn and our teachers are the facilitators of their learning

A Collaborative Culture: We work as teams to share the joy and challenges of facilitating every student reaching his/her highest potential

A Data Driven Culture: We make decisions based upon data that allows us to continually improve our practices.

The significant difference between TPCA and most other schools is our PLC is intentional about integrating a biblical worldview into all of our learning activities. We believe in the education of the body, mind and soul!
