Summer Programs

Traders Point Christian Academy offers learning opportunities each summer for children aged three years through high school. Whether you enroll in an academic course, enrichment course, or sign up for an athletic camp, your experience will be both fun and challenging.  Whether you want to stretch your mind, strengthen your body, or develop your talents, we hope you will join us.

Renovate Dance Camp    www.renovatedance.com

BALLET PRODUCTION

Each class we will learn and improve upon basic ballet steps and terminology, learn choreography steps to short dance piece we will present during the last 10 minutes of class on June9th and integrate a different element each day of what it takes to bring a ballet production to the stage (costuming, stage makeup, hair, learning how to mark the stage, dress rehearsal).

BEGINNER TAP

We will use this time to learn the fundamental of tap dance and work on a short tap piece we will present during the last 10 minutes of class on June 9th.

BOYS HIP HOP

This is a special class set aside for boys who love to move and dance, but may not have much formal training. This class is great for learning technical footwork, which brings an awareness of placement and agility that can be carried over into many different sports and activities. It will be a high-energy environment where teamwork and collaboration are integrated throughout the week.

FAMILY INTRO TO BROADWAY JAZZ

Families will be introduced to dance fundamentals as they explore the animation and technique of Broadway jazz. A fun opportunity to grow together, this class experience will rely on camaraderie as we learn new ways to express ourselves through Broadway jazz exercises and choreography.

Sonshine Camp-June $55 per week                                             

This program will provide opportunities for children between the ages of 3 and Pre-K  to explore through various activities including learning station, land small gross motor skills, storytelling and games. The purpose of this camp is to give children an educational experience into the summer and continue to learn more about God’s creation around them.

Christian Youth Theatre (CYT) www.cytindy.org

 

Movie Mashup Ages 4 -7 9:00 am – 12:00 pm $135

 

Movie Mashup Ages 8 – 18 9:00 am – 3:00 pm $195

 

Campers will "mash up" their favorite recent movies, including "Moana," "Sing!," and "Zootopia," as they rotate through lessons taught by experienced theater camp counselors. Students will learn vocal technique, stage presence, character development and fun choreography as they make friends and memories to last a lifetime!

Campers will stay on Friday until 3 p.m., when family and friends are invited to our "Movie Mashup Showcase," where we'll show you all our new skills!

Design, Make & Tinker Camp  www.1stmakerspace.com

Discover inspiring ways to imagine, design, invent, tinker and make through hands-on projects, interactive challenges and collaborative creations. This week-long camp fosters creativity, builds confidence, and sparks interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Every youth can be a maker - so let’s start making!

Spring Hill www.springhillcamps.com

The Spring Hill experience, is 5 days FULL of fun for kids who have completed K-4th grade. Camp includes small group Bible teachings, high energy large group sessions, and engaging activities including: archery, bungee trampoline, camp songs, climbing wall, water activities, making tye-dye t-shirts and much more!

Our goal is to integrate faith and fun throughout each day of camp. Here's how we do that:

  • A discussion after every activity that focuses on how they saw God work in that time
  • Giving every camper time to hear and understand the message of Christ, and to go deeper in their faith
  • Large Group time that is age-appropriate and filled with songs and skits to bring kids' faith alive
  • Fun, Christian role models who get to know campers in order to help them stretch and grow

Camp Invention www.campinvention.org

Camp Invention is one week STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) program in the summer where your child’s creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills are challenged, developed and come to life in fun and exciting ways. Our top priority is to inspire future innovators and build their confidence in the natural ability to dream and create.

Christian Youth Theatre (CYT) www.cytindy.org

Actor’s Track – “Into the Woods” Ages 13 – 18 9:00 am – 4:00 pm $210

In this one-week, full-day camp, students will work together to rehearse and perform "Into the Woods." Each day, campers will engage in physical and vocal warm-ups, learn choreography, staging and vocal parts led by professional teaching artists while developing skills in acting, stagecraft, character development and more!

The performance will be held the evening of July 14th at Traders Point Christian Academy's box stage.

This camp is jam-packed with activities to ignite your teen's imagination, challenge them, build their self-esteem and develop lasting friendships

Tech Track – “Into the Woods” Ages 13 – 18 9:00 am – 4:00 pm $210

Campers will train with our Volleyball coaching staff and athletes to develop their love for and skills in the sport of volleyball. Camp is open to both boys and girls.

Junior camp

 

AM: Twisted Fairy Tales

Ever wonder how we got to the Happily Ever After in traditional fairy tales? Students will explore a few fairy tales from different points of view and engage in activities to investigate solutions for each fairy tale’s obstacles. In the Twisted Fairy Tales Camp, we will design a getaway vehicle for the heroine from Kate and the Beanstalk, help The Three Billy Goats Fluff devise a method to cross the bridge quietly and not wake the Troll, and construct an edible reef entirely from candy to protect The Three Little Fish from the Big Bad Shark! Join us as we explore the Engineering of Fairy Tales!

PM: Robotics: Wild Animals

This class is a perfect mixture of fun and learning, using LEGO® WeDo™ Robots. Using LEGO® bricks, students build a hungry alligator, a flying bird, and a roaring lion. They also learn how to program and operate their creations using a laptop computer.

 

Apprentice camp

 

AM: Robotics: Robot Olympics

Robot Olympics will introduce students to the concepts of building and programming robots in a competitive and fun way. Students will adapt and program their robots each day to perform in competitive games, such as hockey, basketball, and sumo wrestling!

PM: Video Game Design

Video games are everywhere and in almost every form you can imagine! In Electronic Game Design: Platform Games, engineers will create their own platform video game! Students will program characters and a 2D obstacle course in a side-scrolling, Mario-type world. Game characters will overcome enemies and reach an end goal on multiple levels. At the end of the class, everyone takes home a working Windows-compatible game (Clickteam Fusion 2.5® does not support Mac or Android operating systems). Be sure to bring a flash drive to take home your game!!

*Families may sign up for AM or PM, or ALL day! Families that register for both camps will need to bring a sack lunch. We will also take a short play and snack break during each 3 hour session. Families are responsible for sending appropriate snacks as well.
