Traders Point Christian Schools has launched an innovative initiative to increase rigor and expand opportunities for student achievement called The Scholar Project. The plan includes implementation of new K-12 curriculum, expansion of facilities and the first of a multi-year rollout of a Schools Within a School model.

TPCS will implement high-quality curriculum from Project Lead the Way in grades K-12. The curriculum utilizes the pathways of computer science, engineering, and biomedical science to engage students in transformative learning environments and empower teachers through training, resources and support. Students will learn technical skills, problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, and collaboration.

The Scholar Project is also funding the expansion of classroom spaces at the high school building. Adding 8 full-sized classrooms on the second floor, as well as new faculty is affording TPCHS the opportunity to expand the number of courses that can be offered simultaneously. Schools Within a School model, authored by Head of School Paul Williams, will complement the college preparatory core studies of Bible, reading, literature, writing, math, science and social studies.

With Schools Within a School, TPCHS has implemented four specialized programs: School of Fine Arts, School of Applied Sciences (engineering, computer sciences, robotics, etc), School of Leadership (business, entrepreneurship) and a School of Biomedical Sciences. Students must apply, interview and be accepted into their school of choice which then determines the required coursework and academic expectations. Maintaining a high standard of achievement, attending a corresponding exploration trip, fulfilling internship hours in the field of study, attending a leadership speaker series, and giving an annual presentation to faculty, leadership and community leaders are some of the requirements that allow TPCHS students to earn a distinction in their chosen field on their diploma.
